‘Save Lives’

Could you help raise vital funds in aid of your local emergency medical charity, that voluntarily saves lives within your community? Basics Essex Accident Rescue Service (BEARS), equips and supports volunteer doctors and paramedics, enabling them to respond to critically ill or seriously injured patients in the pre hospital environment and provides support, additional assessment and treatment, beyond that of the NHS ambulance service.BEARS are activated to respond to both urban and rural areas, to provide ‘Enhanced Care’ similar to that provided by air ambulance crews.  BEARS would like to hear from you, if you feel that you may be able to dedicate some of your valuable spare time, to Volunteer/Support essential non-clinical activities.BEARS vision is to recruit ‘Volunteers/Supporters’ Essex wide, that are willing to organise and host fundraising activities and events in aid of BEARS. These Volunteers/Supporters will raise much needed funds, to ensure that BEARS doctors and paramedics can continue to provide their voluntary life saving enhanced care throughout the county. In addition to our fundraising volunteers, BEARS also urgently require volunteers to support the general day to day running of the non clinical side of the charity. Areas requiring support include administration, community awareness work and social media activities. BEARS do not receive any statutory funding, therefore we rely solely upon public donations and our Volunteers/Supporters, to continue our vital voluntary life saving work.BEARS Funding Officer Lisa Thomas said; “Our Volunteering/Supporting roles are challenging and exciting. By becoming a BEARS Volunteer/Supporter, you will be rewarded by the knowledge that your contribution however small, will ultimately help BEARS to potentially save lives within your own community”If you have an interest in Volunteering/Supporting BEARS in any of the aforementioned roles, please contact Lisa Thomas on 07910 018874 or email lisa.thomas@bearsmedics.org.uk
