Paul Gates

Paul is a registered paramedic as well as a paramedic tutor. Paul holds and is an examiner for, the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Paul is also a Regional Examinations Advisor for the Diploma with the Royal College. Paul has undergone additional training in pre-hospital critical care enabling him to practice at an advanced level. Paul is a Honorary Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Postgraduate Medical Institute of Anglia Ruskin University and an external examiner for the University of Limerick. Paul is a senior manager with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and was heavily involved in the delivery of ambulance cover to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Paul has extensive experience in event medicine being the ambulance tactical commander at Notting Hill Carnival as well as a number of large events in Central London. Paul was the Ambulance Tactical Commander for HM Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012. Paul is a Course Director and Instructor with BASICS Education. Paul is the chair of BEARS and led the setting up of the charity.In addition to clinical qualifications, Paul has a Masters degree in Business Administration and he is a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
